Hi, I’m Roger – Product / UX Design Leader

Over the past 20 years, I’ve designed user-centered products and interfaces for responsive web, mobile, desktop, and hardware-based interfaces that span Medical, Consumer Health, Life Sciences, Aviation, Consumer Electronics, Non-Profit, and EdTech industries.
I’ve mentored and led design teams, integrated agile methodologies, and built design systems that connect design and development — always with an emphasis on usability, performance, and measurable results.
About me
Everything I do as centers on enabling better products, stronger teams, and clearer decision-making. The following four pillars describe the mindset I bring to drive that kind of impact.

My leadership style
I lead with clarity, empathy, and accountability. For me, leadership isn’t about directing—it’s about creating the conditions where talented people can do their best work. I focus on providing context, removing friction, and giving my team the autonomy to explore ideas confidently. I like to get my hands dirty as a contributor, but I’m equally comfortable stepping back so others can shine. My goal is always the same: build trust, build momentum, and help people grow.

How I improve teams
Teams thrive when they feel heard, supported, and equipped with the right tools. I work to foster this by encouraging open communication, creating healthy feedback loops, and championing collaboration across disciplines. Whether I’m mentoring junior designers, partnering with engineering, or aligning with product stakeholders, I strive to elevate team culture and bring out everyone’s strengths. When the team grows stronger, the work flows naturally with better output.

How I approach challenges
I treat challenges as design problems—things to explore, understand, and solve with intention rather than rush through. I start by asking questions to uncover the root of the issue, then map a path forward that balances impact, feasibility, and user experience. My winning recipe? Stay calm in the face of ambiguity, communicate transparently, and keep teams focused on what really matters. When something gets tough, I lead with curiosity over frustration, and use data over assumptions.

How I improve process and outcomes
Great outcomes come from repeatable, thoughtful processes. I refine workflows to be lightweight, transparent, and adaptable – I avoid process for the sake of process. I focus on aligning teams early, validating assumptions through research, and incorporating rapid iteration to reduce risk. I believe in working with intention: clear goals, measurable impact, and continuous learning. By improving how teams work, I help organizations move faster, create and deliver smarter products that truly resonate with end users.
